Upward Scholars tutors help students with their class assignments. Mentors help students map out a plan for achieving their professional goals. By meeting with the same student every week, tutors and mentors can build deep connections with their students. Many tutors are also mentors. 

Most tutors help students with intermediate and advanced ESL classes. We also have tutors who work with students on math, programming, and college-level English. Learn more about the tutoring program here.

Upward Scholars mentors work with students and alums on reaching their professional goals. Some mentors work with students who have questions about specific careers. Others provide more general career and life guidance. Learn more about the mentoring program here.
